ERG works with many communities—the geographic communities within which our clinical research sites are located and the broader communities of all those dedicated to advancing research. We strive to be active participants, using the power of collective effort to accelerate new therapeutic options for those who need them so desperately. Here are a few groups that we support.
Fueled by passion and urgency, National Kidney Foundation is a lifeline for all people affected by kidney disease. As pioneers of scientific research and innovation, NKF focuses on the whole patient through the lens of kidney health. Relentless in our work, we enhance lives through action, education and accelerating change.
The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
The STARR Coalition is a nonprofit organization that develops unbiased, collaborative initiatives to reduce the stigma associated with mental health disorders and to promote clinical research as an option for those seeking help. The organization brings together thought leaders from the pharmaceutical industry, contract research organizations, clinical research sites, and patient advocacy groups.
STARR Coalition Sustained Commitment Award
ERG clinical research site Woodland International Research Group received the STARR Coalition’s Sustained Commitment Award in recognition of the site’s deep, ongoing relationships with their local community. Luke Kramer, executive director at the STARR Coalition, noted, “You want people to not only engage the community, you not only want them to engage other partners, but you want this type of relationship to be sustained, you want it to last for a long time, you want it to develop and grow,” behavior exemplified by Woodland International Research Group.
When enrolling psychiatric clinical research studies, patients are rigorously screened for suicidal thoughts—but then are often simply rejected from the study rather than being offered the help they so desperately need. STARR 911 is designed to change this, bridging the gap between clinical research and suicide prevention. The STARR Coalition partnered with ERG to sponsor an onsite training video for research staff, the first step in a comprehensive training program.
The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) was founded in 2012 to represent clinical research sites globally, providing a unified voice and a community dedicated to greater site sustainability. SCRS currently represents over 9,500 research sites in 47 countries, serving as an active partner in industry-wide initiatives and dialogues focused on improving the clinical research enterprise.
The Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation (GAP) focuses on reducing the time and cost of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) clinical research trials in order to speed innovative therapies to those who need them. GAP-Net is a key initiative; this network of more than 60 leading academic and private clinical research sites across the United States and Canada fast-tracks patient recruitment and optimizes site operations, accelerating trial start-up. ERG is proud to be part of this network.
ERG is a founding patron of the CNS Summit. This community of leaders from pharmaceutical and biotech companies, innovative technology companies, startups, patient advocates, investigator sites, service companies, regulators and investors is driven to accelerate the success of programs that bring novel treatments to patients.
